I declare a thumb war (a rambling post)

13 September 2013

Sorry about the weird grass-less patch above

Have you ever bought something that you don't actually like? When you 'need' something in a certain style or colour but you can't find the exact thing your looking for, so you just settle for something you can get your hands on the easiest? I did this when I purchased the above rings and I seriously need to break out of this habit as it's not very savvy.

I've had a recent obsession and need for thumb rings (thanks Pinterest) so I've been running to the jewellery section in every shop in search of the perfect thumb ring. Obviously during my pursuit I have purchased lots of jewellery that isn't a thumb ring which explains the recent picture heavy jewellery haul posts on this blog! I went into 5 shops and had no luck so finally in River Island I found these rings that had a huge sticker on saying 'Thumb Rings' (woohoo)!! This pack of two was for £4 which is a really good price. But to be honest I'm not a big fan of jewellery that has 'Love' engraved all over it as it can look cheesy and slightly tacky but I was so desperate (slight exaggeration) to have a thumb ring I bought them anyway. At least there's a gold and a silver, I thought to myself.

When I came home and tried them on properly, without all the packaging in the way, I realised they are actually really cute and I wear them pretty much everyday now! There isn't really a moral to this story even though I have ended up loving these rings, because I've made plenty of weird purchases that I didn't 100% like when buying them and still dislike them now!

What do you do with clothes, jewellery and make up that you have fallen out of love with; do you give them away to friends/family, sell on or stash away in case your brain tells you that you actually like them?

  1. Hey you just got a new follower here.
    Thanks for sharing this post.
I used to be like buying new stuff and I ended up not using it or not liking it.
However I realized that its not a healthy habit to do so I stop and try my best to only buy what I really need. :)
Its hard and I am still trying to pull it through.

Ohya.... Maybe support me back by following me on bloglovin and on google. :)
I will appreciate it a lot.

Thank you and have a great day ahead.
    XOXO!!
    Sincerely Renny

  3. Haha...I recently lost my moustache rings(I left them on a cinema sink...doy!) and in the search for new ones, I ended up getting 4 other rings that were not moustache ones. I love them though...they just were not what I was looking for! I mostly keep things until I like them but when I have a clear-out from time to time, things I still haven't touched either go to charity or friends :-)

    1. Oh that's the worst, I've lost some amazing bracelets and rings in toilets too, it still makes me sad years later haha. Yep I think I'm going to start donating my things to friends and charity, I just find it hard to let go of things haha x

  4. Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking the time and actual effort to generate a very good article… but what
can I say… I put things off a whole lot and
never manage to get anything done.
